GH&C; Attorneys Obtain Two Favorable BPU Decisions For Their Client

    May 9, 2012

May 9, 2012- Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla, through their Renewable Energy Department, were able to obtain two favorable BPU decisions for the firm's client. John A. Giunco, Chairman of the Real Estate, Land Use and Development Department oversaw the matters. The applications were handled by Justin McCarthy.

These applications to the BPU and regional energy distributor requested extensions of time to perform under Solar Renewable Energy Certificate Purchase and Sale Agreements. These applications become necessary when agreed-upon time frames to complete a solar facility project become at risk and an extension is required in order to retain the benefits and rights of the SREC Purchase and Sale Agreement.

By working closely with the client and the host of the solar facility, along with the public utility providers in the respective market places, GH&C; was able to secure these extensions. Steven J. Corodemus, of Counsel to the firm, was instrumental in assuring clear and direct communications with representatives of the BPU and the utilities along with guiding the administrative process.

The extension now provides the client with ample opportunity to complete construction of the projects on time and put these facilities in service as expected by the client all in accordance with their agreements.

For further information, contact John Giunco or Justin McCarthy of the Real Estate, Land Use and Development Department.
