Government Investigations & White Collar Crime

The Government Investigations and White Collar Crime Practice Area provides representation to corporations, directors, officers, and individuals in a wide variety of federal and state proceedings. Our attorneys have represented businesses ranging in size from small family-held companies to large multi-national corporations. Our services have included defending individuals and businesses in various state and federal investigations or charges such as:

    • Securities Fraud
    • Health Care Fraud
    • Environmental Violations
    • Tax Fraud
    • Bank Fraud
    • Anti Trust
    • Government Procurement
    • Mail/Wire Fraud (including RICO)
    • Public Corruption
    • Money Laundering

Our attorneys have been successful in avoiding criminal charges by aggressively conducting proactive internal investigations and designing defensive strategies during the investigatory stages of criminal proceedings. These investigations are conducted with the utmost of discretion. We recognize the need to be scrupulous in protecting the interests of the company, while insuring that the rights of individual employees are not jeopardized. Our attorneys will advise the company as to the proper content and timing of required disclosures to the public, shareholders, regulators and law enforcement authorities.

We have represented clients in numerous sensitive internal corporate investigations, which, in some cases, may result in the initiation of civil proceedings on behalf of the company against employees or third parties to recover losses, or they may result in the referral of the matter to appropriate law enforcement authorities for further action. The results of such investigations also may be presented to law enforcement authorities to establish the company's good faith compliance with the law and to dissuade them from instituting proceedings or assessing fines and penalties against the company.

Our seasoned attorneys derived their experience from many years of government service with the United States Department of Justice; the United States Attorney's Office and the New Jersey Attorney General's Office in positions that included the Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey and the Chief of the Special Prosecutions Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office. We have represented clients before the United States Supreme Court, many of the U.S. Circuit Courts across the country, and all of the appellate courts in New Jersey.
