Cathy, a Co-Chair of the Construction Law & Litigation Department, devotes her practice to complex commercial and business litigation matters, with a particular focus on construction matters. She represents individuals and entities in the construction and real estate industry, including developers, owners, contractors, subcontractors, professionals and others, providing guidance, counseling and representation. A significant component of her practice involves representation in dispute resolution efforts, such as mediation, as well as in arbitration and litigation. Included in her range of services is representation in matters involving construction defect claims, payment disputes, liens and other contract disputes. Cathy also assists clients in the drafting and modification of construction contracts and other agreements used in the industry.
In addition, Cathy assists developers and sponsors with transition disputes and in the defense of litigation brought by community associations. She has experience defending consumer fraud claims and assisting parties in the enforcement of their rights to contractual defense and indemnity and to insurance benefits as insureds and additional insureds.
Cathy’s practice also includes representation of other members of the business community on a wide variety of commercial disputes and litigated matters, including clients involved in contract and corporate disputes, business tort claims, insurance disputes and other general business claims.
